Welcome to Black Lion Photography and thanks for stopping by. I am a landscape/nightscape photographer based in Huntsville, Alabama. I have always been drawn to photography and for as long as I can remember, I’ve had a camera in my hands. I had no idea how the camera worked, and I had yet to appreciate the complexities involved in processing images but found enjoyment in taking the images nonetheless. 

For me, photography is about the journey it takes to create the images, the road trips with friends, the conversations and the mishaps that make the adventures meaningful in the end. It’s my escape from the daily grind of life. Whether it’s a beautiful landscape, an amazing cityscape or a gorgeous night under the stars, I can shut out the outside world and focus on the beauty of where ever I find myself. 

I began taking a more serious interest in my photography several years ago, when I sold all my ancient equipment and invested in a new mirrorless camera. I began educating myself through books and video tutorials, as well as spending countless hours with local photographers, soaking up their knowledge and various techniques. 

My passions lie in photographing the wonders of the night sky and beautiful landscapes. My art is printed in a variety of mediums, but by far my favorite is metal. Metal prints are ideal in that they are lightweight and offer a modern appearance, but more importantly allow the vibrant colors captured to be expressed fully in each piece.
